The image below contains 3 KISS albums, a black 12″ x 12″ leather bound, a white 10″ x 10″ leather bound, and a 8″ x 8″ linen bound album. I offer linen and leather albums in those 3 sizes.

Here is a different view showing their thickness. The black leather album contains 42 pages, the white leather album contains 46 pages, and the red linen album contains 20 pages.

As you can see in the image below the binding is a little different between a linen bound and a leather bound album. The linen bound albums don’t have a board between each print, instead the prints are just glued together back-to-back allowing the pages to flex easily when going through the album. With the leather bound album the prints are glued to the board so the book is much thicker, heavier, and more solid.

I have been really happy with the linen and leather albums made by KISS that I have in my studio and the ones I have delivered to my clients. I encourage all my clients to go with a leather bound album if it fits in their wedding photography budget. I like to offer linen bound albums as parent books and guest signature books. I also offer a linen bound wedding album with my lowest package that includes an album. Whether you chose to go with a linen or leather album, I know you will enjoy it for years to come!

The Vibiana, which opened in 1876, was the official cathedral of Los Angeles for over 100 years.  In recent years it has been converted into a beautiful event space that hosts many weddings, special events, and Hollywood parties.  You can read more about it’s history here.

I am so thankful for the talented Justin Gourley and Christian Bugay for coming out and giving me a hand at this outstanding wedding.  The day wouldn’t of gone as smoothly and been nearly as much fun without their help.

After a 5 hour break it was time for the second part of Joe & Paula’s wedding day. We met about 1.5 hours before they were scheduled to make their entrance into their reception at The Standard in Downtown LA.

Just before we headed out to Union Station for a wedding day photo shoot with Joe & Paula a future bride and her girls had to congratulate Paula.

Paula wanted to have her ceremony at Union Station but it didn’t work out. I am glad Union Station is mostly photo-friendly so we could still get some amazing shots of her and Joe there. We started outside and used the sun before it went behind the buildings.

After sweet talking the head of security for the area we were able to get into a space Union Station reserves for special events. Here are some of my favorites along with some portraits of Joe & Paula.

Cortney is an amazing wedding photographer based out of Regina, Canada. Tim plays guitar and provides vocals for the band Into Eternity. The day started off with everyone getting ready at the Flamingo Casino & Hotel, then we headed over to Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel for the ceremony, spent an hour at the Neon Graveyard, and had a a nice dinner at Smith & Wollensky.

I was amazed how many brides we saw in Vegas, with it being 10/10/10. One chapel was trying to perform 300 wedding ceremonies before the day was over. Before Jack and I even made it up to Cortney’s room at the Flamingo we had seen at least 6 brides. I am confident though, that Jack and I were following around the most beautiful bride and most rocking wedding party in all of Vegas that day. I had so much fun hanging out with Tim & Cortney’s family and friends who all came in from out of town to celebrate. Check out below for some of my favorites from the day.

Some details

Adam and Victoria are such a fun couple, I am so glad they chose me to be there to capture their wedding day.  From the moment we first met, last November, we hit it off.  I told them during our meeting that their wedding day would be here before they knew it.  Now it is nearly a week since their wedding and before you know it they will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary.  I hope their first year is a blast and that each year after  it only gets better.

The day started with Victoria getting ready with her girls at the Holiday Inn in Lake Forest, CA.

Adam and Victoria are big UCLA football fans, so it was no surprise Victoria was watching the UCLA-Kansas State game while she was getting ready. Kansas State just intercepted the football with seconds left in the first half when a grabbed this shot. Victoria checked throughout the day for an updated score.

Once the hair and make-up was finished we all headed down to Rancho Capistrano to finish getting ready.

I grabbed this right when Jason, Jeremy and I all stepped in at the same time to get closer at the end of the session. Adam & Victoria both burst out laughing feeling like we were paparazzi. Such a fun moment and I am thankful for Adam & Victoria’s sense of humor.

I met this amazing couple through a mutual friend, Meg.  When Laura was planning her wedding, Meg stepped up and said “you don’t need to worry about finding a photographer, I know your guy!”  I am so glad Meg connected us and I was able to capture this special day.

This next image is so powerful to me. Elliott’s helmet was used to carry the rings down the aisle and then placed on the empty seat next to Laura’s dad, which would have held Laura’s mom. Even though Laura’s mom has passed on, her presence was felt many times in imagery and symbols.

My friend Brian Hamilton of Suite M came to assist me for the day. It was such a blast working with him, I hope we can do it again soon. Not only did Brian assist me but he also connected me with this fun couple. Brian is the owner and main photographer at Suite M Photography. Among being an awesome photographer, he also is an all around great guy. He is the first person I recommend if I am already booked.
