Today, 15 weeks after baby Tabitha joined our family<\/a>, Victoria headed back to work from maternity leave. The past 3 months have been great with the whole family around throughout most days. Now I am responsible for 3 children under the age of 5 each weekday, unless I have a shoot. Over the past 3 months, when I wasn’t busy helping out at home, I have been busy shooting weddings<\/a> and engagement sessions<\/a>. Also whenever I\u00a0would get\u00a0a little free time I would test out some of my old and new lighting modifiers. Luckily my kids make pretty great test subjects and cooperate a fair amount of the time.<\/p>\n

This first shot of Tabitha at 1 week old was really simple. I just bounced a Canon 600EX-RT Speedlite Flash<\/a>\"\"off our white ceiling.<\/p>\n

This photo of Gideon was shot while testing out my new Photoflex 60″ convertible umbrella<\/a>. I used one Canon 600EX-RT<\/a>\"\" with the umbrella setup\u00a0as shoot through.<\/p>\n

The next two photos of Gideon were shot with one Canon 600EX-RT<\/a>\u00a0 in my NEEWER 24 inch Softbox<\/a>\"\" and one Canon 600EX-RT<\/a>\u00a0set to light the background white.<\/p>\n

This photo of Esther used a similar setup but I used a\u00a0Canon 600EX-RT<\/a>\u00a0in a\u00a030″ Octagon Softbox<\/a>\"\" for the main light.<\/p>\n

These photos of Tabitha at 10 weeks in early May were shot with the same set-up except I used a Westcott 7-Foot White with Black Cover Parabolic Umbrella<\/a>\"\"\u00a0with a Canon 600EX-RT<\/a> for the main light.<\/p>\n

Here Gideon and Esther are sitting somewhat still as I setup my lighting for some photos on Mother’s Day. The remaining photos use the same setup of one Canon 600EX-RT<\/a> into a Westcott 7-Foot White with Black Cover Parabolic Umbrella<\/a>\"\"<\/p>\n
