I need to get back into the habit of posting at least once a week. I have plenty of things to post about I just need to take the time to write each post. Keep coming back for some cool posts in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>So on to the reason for this post.<\/p>\n<p>You might remember a little over 5 months ago I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rustinmichael.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/12\/goal-2-get-moving\">posted my goal<\/a> to get moving again this year. If you have been following me on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/rustinmichael\">twitter<\/a> and keeping up on my blog I am sure you know that I have been very\u00a0successful with this goal. Back in May, which is just 2.5 months since I started my goal, I posted about completing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rustinmichael.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/25\/29\/\">my first 5K<\/a>.\u00a0 So far that is the only official race I have taken part in but soon enough I will have at least one half-marathon under my belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here are some notes updating you about the past 5 months and what is ahead:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I have dropped 24 pounds on the scale so far.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t been this light for 4 years.\u00a0\u00a0I am hoping to drop 15 to 20 more.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>I have been doing\u00a0lifting focusing on my upper body every Mon, Wed, Fri each week and have definitely put on some muscle so I am sure I have lost more than 24 pounds of fat.<\/li>\n<li>I am usually getting a run in 5 to 6 days a week with each run usually being\u00a0at least 30 minutes.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Most days I am running either 3, 4, or 5 miles.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>I have had weeks recently where I have run\u00a025 and 22 miles over 6 days.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>My Nike shoes that I wrote about in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rustinmichael.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/12\/goal-2-get-moving\/\">original post<\/a> are holding up well.\u00a0 They have been very comfortable and I have had no blisters at all.<\/li>\n<li>Last week I was able to do my first chin-up in at least 4 years.\u00a0 I actually did 2!\u00a0 I immediately went out and bought a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Iron-Gym-Total-Upper-Workout\/dp\/B001EJMS6K\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=sporting-goods&amp;qid=1251387730&amp;sr=1-1\">chin-up bar<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My best times are 3.0 miles in 23:40, \u00a04.0 miles in 33:26, and 5.0 miles in 43:54\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/solacearts.com\/\">Kolby<\/a> and I are planning on running in the <a href=\"http:\/\/las-vegas.competitor.com\/\">Las Vegas half marathon<\/a> December 6th.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rustinmichael.com\/blog_photos\/2009\/0312\/IMG_1842.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"pp-fb-like-btn-wrap\">\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-href=\"http:\/\/www.rustinmichael.com\/blog\/2009\/08\/27\/update-on-goal-2-get-moving\/\" data-share=\"true\" data-layout=\"standard\" data-width=\"450\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-action=\"like\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been really slacking on blogging recently.
