Hope in the City 2009 – Fashion Shoot

On Saturday I had the chance to participate in the fashion shoot for Mosaic’s “Hope in the City: The Other Side of the Tracks.” I was in charge of coordinating the photographers for the event this year. So when I sent out an invite to some friends asking for their time to give me a hand, I was pleased with the response. I was so happy to shoot with photographers with all different types of styles and skill levels. It was a great day for learning, teaching, encouraging, and networking for all involved. I didn’t get to shoot as much as last year, since I was managing all the photography going on. Plus the location I wanted to use was a little windy, to say the least, until the sun started setting. Make sure you read the bottom of this post for links to all the awesome photographers involved.

Just a few shots of the models getting ready. I am so thankful for my friends Lisa & Dan Soltis and them opening up their loft for us to use for staging and to shoot.

The rooftop at Lisa and Dan’s is pretty spectacular. I shot the whole time up there.

After the wind died down some I could use the section of the roof I really wanted to to use with a cool view of downtown LA.

These next two images were taken using a 1/2 second exposure.

Make sure you stop by the blogs listed below for more images from Saturday.

Hope in the City 2009

It was a very busy day today working with several photographers and models for the Hope in The City 2009 fashion shoot. Stay tuned later this week, for some of my favorite images from the shoot. You can see my post from the shoot last year here. Below is the background I had for the shoot today and the flyer for the upcoming show.

Solace Anstasia Perr

Last week I visited Jason and Brettney Perr to capture some images of their new little girl, Solace. Solace was born March 24th, exactly 5 months after our son, Gideon. Gideon came along with me on the shoot and napped pretty much the whole time. Once he woke up, he sat there in his car seat so quietly I didn’t even know he was up. It is great having a low key baby. Here are a few of my favorites from my shoot with Solace. Make sure you check out Brettney’s Etsy page for some cool creations.

168 Project Film – Joseph’s Wheel of Destiny

A little over a month ago I blogged about the short film we shot using the, new Canon 5D Mark II camera, for the 168 Project Film Festival.  The short was directed by my friend, the talented, Ian Eyre.  Kolby Allen, of Solace Arts, also helped out with the shoot and the footage comes from both our cameras. Here is our short film called “Joesph’s Wheel of Destiny.”

The film was nominated for a few awards which was awesome.

The video is pretty big so you may want to let it load a little before watching.  You can find larger versions of the film on SmugMug.
