Yesterday afternoon, I met up with my good friend Mike Patti to shoot some quick headshots before we headed out to see a movie. We spent about 30 minutes grabbing some shots around the outside of his house and then in his studio before heading off to see “I Love You, Man.” When I first met Mike last fall and found out he is a film composer I knew we would hit it off. I love film scores and have ever since the first time I heard John William’s score for Star Wars as a kid. Film scores make up the majority of my iTunes library. Many times after getting home from seeing a movie I will jump onto iTunes and buy a few selections from the movie I just watched.
Mike is extremely talented. I remember the first time Victoria and I went over to Mike’s house to have dinner with him and his wife Lynne. After dinner Mike took me into his studio and showed me some of the pieces he had composed for TV and movies. I was in awe. He even threw a piece together right in front of me as we watched a clip from a movie he was working on. Mike has a bright future in front of him. I hope he invites me along one day when he is conducting pieces for a film so I can grad some shots of him in action. Here are a few of my favorite shots from yesterday. Make sure you check out the video at the bottom of this post to see an example of Mike’s talent. You can see some more videos like this by going to Mike’s site.

Last weekend I photographed Cesar and Kelsey’s wedding day. Although I like to travel for weddings, it is nice to stay close to home at times. I don’t think Cesar and Kelsey could of picked any locations closer to my home. The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Augustine Church in Culver City and the reception took place in Marina Del Rey on a FantaSea cruise around the marina. Here are some of my favorite images from their wedding day.
The day started off at Phazes Salon in Marina Del Rey with Kelsey getting her hair done.

Kelsey made a beautiful bride. I love the colors in this shot. This was taken at the bus stop right in front of the church.
After leaving the church we had a little time before the cruise boat left the dock so we did a quick photoshoot in Marina Del Rey. Thanks to my friend Claire Barrett for showing me some amazing locations in the Marina. I hope to shoot there again soon.

I just love when the guest help out with the lighting. Kelsey’s dad is capturing the other angle for this shot. I am so glad we clicked the shutter at the same time.

Earlier today I had a blast photographing Cesar and Kelsey’s wedding. Here is one shot from their special day. Stay tuned until later this week for a full post on their wedding.
My 2009 wedding season started off with a bang last weekend by photographing Ken & LeeAnn’s wedding. Ken & LeeAnn chose to have a morning wedding, which I don’t get that many of, so it was strange to make it home in time for dinner and to spend time with family and friends. The great thing about a morning wedding is you have light the whole time. The day started off pretty foggy but eventually the sun broke through during the reception. The ceremony was held at Montrose Church with the reception taking place at Castaway in Burbank. Here are a few of my favorite images from my first wedding of 09.

A few more of LeeAnn. She made a stunning bride.
Once the sun came out, I had to make sure I used it to my advantage.
